Dental hygienists are preventive oral health professionals who have graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program in an institution of higher education, licensed in dental hygiene to provide educational, clinical, research, administrative and therapeutic services supporting total health through the promotion of optimum oral health.
In performing the dental hygiene process of care, the dental hygienist assesses the patient's oral tissues and overall health determining the presence or absence of disease, other abnormalities and disease risks; develops a dental hygiene diagnosis based on clinical findings; formulates evidence-based, patient-centered treatment care plans; performs the clinical procedures outlined in the treatment care plan; educates patients regarding oral hygiene and preventive oral care; and evaluates the outcomes of educational strategies and clinical procedures provided.
Shari received her Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Southern Indiana in 1990. She has been with Ellettsville Dental Center since her graduation that year. She is from Bloomington, where she currently lives with her husband Toby and their two sons, Cameron and Colin. She enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
Stephanie received her Dental Hygiene degree from the IU School of Dentistry in 1993. She joined Ellettsville Dental Center in 1999. She currently resides in Mitchell, Indiana with her husband, Jim and their two children. When she’s not at work, she enjoys camping, horseback riding, and spending time with her family.
Amanda received her degree in Dental Hygiene at University of Southern Indiana in 2007. She joined the team at Ellettsville Dental Center in August 2014. She lives in Bedford with her husband and son. In her free time, she enjoys camping, kayaking, and vacationing with her family.
Valerie received her Dental Hygiene degree from IPFW in 2007. She has been with the Ellettsville Dental Center since 2008. Valerie currently lives in Spencer, Indiana with her husband Levi and their three dogs. She loves reading books and writing.
Sarah received her dental hygiene degree from the IU School of Dentistry in 2000. She joined the office in 2015. Sarah lives in Bloomington with her husband, Aaron, and their two kids, Chauncey and Amelia. When she’s not at work, Sarah loves to bake, craft, spend time with friends and family, and volunteer in the community.
Andrea received her Dental Hygiene degree from the IU School of Dentistry in 2010. In her free time she enjoys cooking, listening to music, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
