Dr. Kapczynski, often known simply as “Dr. Kap,” graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1978. He established Ellettsville Dental Center in Ellettsville, IN that same year. In 1988, he built a new office at its present location on SR 46 in front of the nursing home.
Dr. Kapczynski served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970 during the Vietnam War (serving 13 months in South Korea). He continued to serve in the Indian Army National Guard until 1997, when he retired as a Lt. Colonel. Dr. Kapczynski has completed over 20 mission trips to Central America, using his dental skills to serve people with little or no access to care. He also volunteers at St. Anne’s free dental clinic in Terre Haute.
When Dr. Kap isn’t working or away on a mission trip, he enjoys fishing and vacationing in Ely, Minnesota. He has been married to Jeana (a Monroe Co. native) since 1968, and they have two children. When he has free time, Dr. Kap enjoys being with his grandchildren.
